Superintendent's Message
We would like to welcome you to the Pascagoula-Gautier School District and its rich history of providing excellent educational opportunities for all our students. We are located on the picturesque Mississippi Gulf Coast with 10 miles of Jackson County’s Pascagoula River Blueway meandering right through our backyard. We have many adventures for avid outdoor enthusiasts including fishing, boating, golf, and beautiful beaches. This amazing setting allows
for some of the best industrial opportunities in America.
for some of the best industrial opportunities in America.
Our district was recently named a District of Innovation by the Mississippi Department of Education for its innovation in creating unique learning experiences from pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. Our College and Career Technical Institute offers 21 programs of study, the largest number of career and technical offerings in Mississippi. We also offer many advanced placement and dual credit opportunities for our students at both Pascagoula High School and Gautier High School. Our school district works together with our community partners to provide
numerous hands-on learning opportunities so our students can find their passion in life. It is our hope they will return to our community to work and raise their own families.
Pascagoula and Gautier have a total of 10 thriving community elementary schools for students in kindergarten through 4th grade. We offer two academies for 5th and 6th grades, two middle schools for 7th and 8th grades, two high schools serving grades 9-12, an exceptional school, an opportunity center, as well as the College and Career Technical Institute. The district also offers excellent opportunities for early childhood education through its six locally-funded pre-kindergarten classes and the nationally-recognized Aaron Jones Family Interactive Center. Our students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of extracurricular activities in both middle and high school including athletics, performing arts, and multiple clubs on each campus. When our students graduate from high school, they are prepared for a multitude of college and career opportunities or military service.
We hope you will take the time to explore our website at pgsd.ms to learn more about our schools and the amazing opportunities we provide in Pascagoula and Gautier. We invite you to schedule a visit to our campuses to see how we work to prepare students to be the leaders of tomorrow.
Thank you for visiting our website and learning about our school district!
