Hope Squads create 'Hope Chain' that surrounds PHS football field

Mental health matters - that was the message ringing through the Performing Arts Center today during the Health Sciences Summit.

Keynote speakers included the Hope Squad CEO - Greg Hudnall Jr visited with Squads and health science students from across the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

While health science students went through rotations with local businesses and learned more about future career opportunities, Hope Squads from PGSD, Jackson County, Moss Point and Ocean Springs school districts came together to create a large ‘Hope Chain.’ This was a project started at Gautier Middle - students wrote words of encouragement and affirmation on paper links and joined them to stretch around the entire PHS football field.

What a wonderful demonstration to show how schools across Jackson County and their communities are committed to making a difference when it comes to young minds. The program is a sign of unity for spreading hope for our children.

Thank you to the Chamber of Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Mississippi, Singing River Health Systems and local businesses for the partnership to make this program happen.
