Congratulations to these PGSD educators who have been selected as members of the Mississippi Department of Education’s Principal Advisory Council for the school year!
Dr. Latoya Worthen (Arlington Elementary School) and Derek Read (College and Career Technical Institute) will join principals from across Mississippi to provide direct input to the State Superintendent of Education about important issues in schools.
Dr. Worthen and Mr. Read are two of the 23 new members of the council. The MPAC, formed in 2021, now includes 42 principals representing schools in urban and rural settings. The MPAC aims to empower principals to discuss topics critical to their success as administrators and to share suggestions on how MDE can assist. In addition, members will provide feedback on a variety of MDE initiatives.
